TOPOGRAPHICAL MODELS THAT LOOK GREAT INDOORS AND STAND UP TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS: 3DS brings an ingenious modern spin to the traditional field of topographical models and maps. Through a combination of our high-quality sculpting techniques, in materials like fiberglass or high-density foam, and our own proprietary LuminOre metal finishing process, we’re able to create durable, lightweight 3D topographical models suitable for year-round outdoor duty, yet at a fraction of the cost. Cast bronze is the preferred material for outdoor topo maps and 3DS replicates virtually all of its qualities at any size, indoors or out, with none of the drawbacks – and with serious price advantages.
In a project for Whistler/Blackcomb, with an objective of universal access and handicap-accessible signage, our map featured components in Braille, allowing the vision-impaired to understand the contours of the mountains.
Custom Topo Maps
We’re pleased to be able to offer our clients extremely high-grade pieces, within their often restricted budgets. Our map for Fundy National Park, in Eastern Canada is an excellent example. 3DS was able to deliver a first-rate map, without sacrificing quality in any detail. Topographical models are also a regular and essential part of our Discovery Centers and exhibits.
